Go Forward
Right through life we find we get to a place where it is imperative that we go forward. There is a time to stand and a time to go forward.
Let’s look at the children of Israel. In Exodus 14 we find the children of Israel have left Egypt and have now come to the Red Sea. The Egyptians and all of Pharaohs army are marching toward them and the Word says they were ‘sore afraid.’ Moses tells the people to ‘fear not, stand still,’ and then, “the Lord says to Moses, wherefore criest thou to me? Speak to the children of Israel to go forward.” (Exodus 14:15) The word go forward comes from a Hebrew word (Naca-naw-sah) meaning; to pull up the tent pins, start on a journey, march, go, set aside, be on His way.
Now they have a choice, if they do not move forward they will be overtaken by the Egyptians and taken back to bondage and slavery. They chose to move forward at God’s command and were saved miraculously. Dake’s Study Bible says that the Red Sea was 12 miles wide (approx. 20klm) and that God caused the water to open up and congeal (freeze) and to heap up 75-100 feet (22-30 meters) high on both sides as the people walked through on dry ground and this happened at night time.
This is an extraordinary account of the provision of God as the children of Israel obeyed God and moved forward. Maybe you are in a similar time in your walk with God and that you must take the next step and go forward. Remember that the miracle of the crossing of the Red Sea happened because God spoke His Word.
God will also speak to you, Psalms 119:105 says, “Thy Word is a lamp (candle) unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
